Get Accident Medical Coverage
Health Insurance Does Not Cover All Your Medical Expenses
If you are healthy and lead a healthy lifestyle, you may have a greater risk from having an accident than from having an illness.
Accident Medical Coverage pays for all medical expenses related to an accident (after the first $100), including Dental and Physical Therapy.
Pays your Annual
Deductible, Coinsurance, Dental, Physical Therapy, and other medical expenses
when you have an accident.
| Coverage per Accident |
$1,000 | $2,500 | $5,000 | $7,500 | $10,000 |
| Individual | $10 | $14 | $18 | $20 | $22 |
| Family | $20 | $28 | $36 | $40 | $44 |
How Much Could an Accident Cost Me?
Every health insurance policy requires you to pay 100% of your medical expenses until you reach your Annual Deductible, typically $250 to $5,000 a year.
After you reach your Annual Deductible, most policies also require you to pay 10% - 20% of your next $10,000 of medical expenses—this is called Coinsurance.
An accident such a breaking a leg could cost $15,000. Even if you have a $1 million health insurance policy, you could be required to pay $4,500 before your insurance covered the balance up to $1 million.
| Annual Deductible ($2,500) | $2,500 |
| Coinsurance (20% of $10,000) | + $2,000 |
| Your Responsibility | $4,500 |
Most health insurance policies do not fully cover Dental, Physical Therapy, Ambulance, and other expenses you could incur if you have an accident, and most policies reduce benefits if you have an accident away from home (out-of-network).
After an accident you might require $1,500 in Dental work to replace a lost tooth, or three months of Physical Therapy care at $300/month, or incur an Ambulance bill of $600—all of which may not be covered by your health insurance.
| Dental Work | $1,500 |
| Physical Therapy | + $900 |
| Ambulance | + $600 |
| Your Responsibility | $3,000 |
How Can This Save Me Money?
Accident Medical Coverage can not only save you money if you have an accident, Accident Medical Coverage can also help you save you $2,500 each year on your health insurance premium.
The higher the Annual Deductible on your Individual, Family, or Employer-Sponsored health insurance policy, the lower your Monthly Premium or Employee Contribution.
| $500 Annual Deductible | $500.00/Month |
| $2,500 Annual Deductible | - $260.00/Month |
| Monthly Premium Savings | $240.00/Month |
You Can Typically Save $240/month, $2,880/year by raising the Annual Deductible (per person) on your Health Insurance by $2,000.
However, you may not be comfortable accepting the higher risk of having a $2,500 Annual Deductible per person on each family member. Or, you may want better coverage if you or a family member has an accident.
You can obtain $2,500-Benefit Accident Medical Coverage for your family—this pays you up to $2,500 per accident in medical expenses for each member of your family (no limit on number of accidents).
This saves you $212/month, $2,544 a year, and provides you better coverage ($100 deductible) in the event of an accident or injury.
| $500 Annual Deductible | $500.00/Month |
| $2,500 Annual Deductible | - $260.00/Month |
| Monthly Premium Savings | $240.00/Month |
| $2,500-Benefit ZaneAMC | - $28.00/Month |
| Net Monthly Savings | $212.00/Month |

Accident Medical Coverage provides benefits for medical expenses that result from an accident or injury—it does not provide benefits for medical expenses due to an illness.
Information on this page does not refer to a specific product, policy, or membership—all examples are only for purposes of education. Accident Medical Coverage described on this page can be obtained several ways including: (1) Contacting Zane Benefits to obtain a health insurance policy or plan offering protection against accidents; (2) Contacting Zane Benefits to purchase a standalone Accident Medical Coverage policy; (3) Lowering the Annual Deductible and/or coinsurance requirement of an existing employer-sponsored or other health policy; or (4) Joining an association that provides multiple benefits of membership, one of which is accident medical coverage—similar to the way some people join AAA for a package of benefits (maps, discounts) along with roadside assistance coverage at a better price than roadside assistance coverage might cost alone.
